Compliance to self contained to strictest standardsThere is a growing number of campsites that require compliance of RV's to be "self contained" and for their users to abide by the regulations. Kimberley off-road caravans comply with even the strictest of these regulations and have done for years.

What does “No Camping” mean at a "Self Contained Only" campsite?

Camper trailers and Tents are not allowed as these are unlikely to have all the compliant requirements and may require tent pegs or stakes in the ground.  There are signs at some "self contained only" campsites that use these words and only allow true self contained RV's to "camp".

Is there a consistent standard accross Australia of "Self Contained Only" compliance?

The short answer is NO. Each "Self Contained Only" campsite is regulated by the local council.

Standards and the details of what may not comply can vary. For this reason we have published 2 tables. The first one is the strictest definition we can find that applies to "self contained only" campsites. The second table has a softer set of definitions. It may be that some locations have a combination of the two. Regardless, we are pleased to report that Kimberley Off-road caravans comply with the strictest requirements.

Here is a table of the strictest compliance requirements for RV's

(Owners still have to agree that these are operational and will be used):

From January 2015, customers can choose to have the option of a "Self Contained RV Compliance Certificate" attached to their off-road caravan in etched stainless steel that is bonded to the unit on the side. The customer still has to obtain permits where necessary and comply with the local laws.
